Pressure vessel, fitting and piping designs used in Ontario are registered with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). We prepare the package, have it reviewed and stamped by a Canadian P.Eng., and submit it.

- Since February 1, 2025, registrations submitted without the mandatory supporting documents are not processed.
- If information TSSA requests is not provided within 21 calendar days, the application is closed.

CRN registration in other provinces
Pressure equipment designs used in Ontario are registered with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
Ontario’s code is 5. It appears after the decimal point of a CRN once the design is registered in Ontario: first if Ontario registered it first, later in the order the provinces signed off.
Yes. A design must be registered in each province or territory where the equipment is used. Ontario is a party to the CRN Reconciliation Agreement, and TSSA offers a National Service to register designs across Canada. Once Ontario registers it, the code 5 is added to the CRN.
